Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway Reaches a Speed of 350 km/h during Integrated Testing

Published:2023-06-28

The integrated testing train of Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway reached a speed of 350 km/h for the first time, signifying that designed speed standards and interim objectives of the integrated testing phase have been met.

Since the official start of integrated testing on May 22, the Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway, led by CR International Co., Ltd. in collaboration with CR-Beijing and China Academy of Railway Sciences Co., Ltd. has conducted incremental speed tests. Comprehensive testing saw a gradually increase in speed from 180 km/h to the designed speed of 350 km/h. The railway's systems, including track, power supply, overhead lines, communication, signaling, and warning monitoring, have been thoroughly verified and meet the design requirements, providing strong support for subsequent operational trials and opening.

According to the requirements of the integrated testing outline, the maximum testing speed of the Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway train for comprehensive testing needs to reach 110% of the designed speed, which is 385 km/h.

To prepare for the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway, close cooperation between China and Indonesia has been carried out since the end of February this year. The Chinese side has provided professional training for Indonesian train drivers, train mechanics, and operation control center dispatchers, among other high speed railway operational positions, supporting the high-quality opening of the Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway with talents and technical expertise.

The Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway connects the Indonesian capital Jakarta with the tourist city of Bandung, with a total length of 142.3 kilometers. It is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative and pragmatic cooperation between China and Indonesia.
