Fright Trains Start to Transport Overseas Goods along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor for Spring Festival

Published:2023-01-18

On January 15, Train X9578 departed from the Qinzhougangdong Railway Station in Guangxi, carrying more than 1,000T of goods for Spring Festival; such as white granulated sugar from Pakistan and coconut milk from Hainan. These goods will be sold in local markets after they are unloaded in Kunming, Yunnan Province. This fright train is the first one of its kind in Guangxi transporting Spring Festival goods along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.

Since the beginning of this year, over 110 railway-sea intermodal fright trains have departed from the Qinzhougangdong Railway Station and traveled on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. Loading times in railway stations have been considerably shortened, needing merely 1.5 hours at peak efficiency. As the Spring Festival approaches, railway regional groups will work harder to secure transport, ensuring that more goods from ASEAN, Europe, and many other countries, can enter China via the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, bringing more products to Chinese consumers.
