Published:2023-01-15

On January 14, an international freight train arrived from Tajikistan to Lanzhou New Area,  with 50 containers fully loaded. It is the first train of its kind travelling between Tajikistan and Gansu Province.

In recent years, companies in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Lanzhou New Area have done foreign trade with many countries in Central Asia and the Middle East, providing such services as container reloading, goods distribution, consolidation and storage in the five countries in Central Asia while opening the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Corridor and the China-Uzbekistan Corridor. At the same time, it provides cross-border e-commerce companies, via overseas warehouses, with services of logistics, warehousing, distribution and one-piece consignment. Even more, it provides important support to enterprises engaged in bulk commodities such as international and domestic warehousing distribution, and logistics services, among others.

In 2022, 203 international trains arrived in or started in the Lanzhou New Area, an increase of 31% YoY, which transported 377,000T goods, up by 54.5% YoY; nine special freight trains were added. These efforts were made to expand the “new channel” of foreign trade economy in an all-round way, and promote the high-quality operation of international freight trains with countries along the “Belt and Road”.
