Recently, all CHINA RAILWAY officials and employees have thoroughly studied and implemented the guiding principle of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Tibet. Being much encouraged and inspired by the speech, they declared that they would improve their political stance, bear in mind the top priorities of the country, and spare no effort to build Sichuan-Tibet Railway, the landmark project in the process of achieving the second centenary goal. They will give full play to the key role that scientific and technological innovation is playing in this process, rise up to challenges, keep up the pioneer spirit, thus making their own contributions to the high-quality development of Tibet and other border areas, and to the high-quality life of the people.
During his inspection in Tibet, General Secretary Xi Jinping made an inspection tour to Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway and there he put forward clear demands on the construction of Sichuan-Tibet Railway as a landmark project in the process of achieving the second centenary goal, and on the overall planning on the construction of railway network in China's western border areas. These demands reflect that CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as its core attaches great importance to railway transport and that railway transport is put at a significant place among the overall work of the Party and the government. These demands also provide fundamental guidance for the work of railway transport, especially in terms of further improving the planning, construction, operation, and service of the railway network in the western border areas.
The Party Leadership Group of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. held a meeting immediately, requiring the integration of thoughts and actions with the important speech and instructions of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, fully implementing the Party’s strategy of Tibetan governance in the new era, ensuring high-quality management and use of plateau railways, resolutely building Sichuan-Tibet Railway as a landmark project in the process of achieving the second centenary goal, and striving to make contributions to the long-term stability and high-quality development of Tibet. From August 4th to 8th, Lu Dongfu, Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CHINA RAILWAY visited Lhasa, Shigatse, Ngari Prefecture and other places in Tibet Autonomous Region to conduct site inspection on railway planning and construction in Tibet. Such concrete action for the railway system to quickly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during the inspection tour in Tibet, and practical measure to further arrange and promote the planning and construction of the railway network in western border areas of China, has stimulated the enthusiasm of all departments and units of CHINA RAILWAY to serve the national strategy.
