Recently, the first CRE train departed respectively from Chongqing and Chengdu in 2021. These two CRE trains loaded with electronic products and machinery parts will run west, heading to Duisburg, Germany and Lodz, Poland. The CRE trains (Chengdu and Chongqing) will shoulder the mission of promoting the high-quality development of CRE train services and creating a model of cooperative and efficient construction and operation.
By operating CRE trains under the mode of "terminal distribution+direct transport on trunk line+intermodal transport", Chengdu and Chongqing have closely connected China's inland hinterland with the central hinterland of Europe, thus forming a multidirectional-interconnected international circulation system that radiates Europe and Asia and connects ASEAN countries. The cooperation between Chengdu and Chongqing to build the CRE train brand is conducive to the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and to the formation of an important growth pole for high-quality development in the western China. At the same time, their cooperation will maximize the scale effect of the international railway terminals and corridors, and help the mutual promotion of domestic and international circulations.
