Published:2020-10-30

Since HSR was launched in Yunnan on December 28, 2016, the total EMU train ridership in Yunnan has exceeded 100 million (100.443 million) cumulatively on October 15 this year, and the proportion of EMU train ridership to total railway ridership has increased from 25.5% to 77.4%. The high speed trains not only facilitate the travel of Yunnan people, but also promote the local economic development.

China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. has continuously optimized and adjusted its passenger transport products of EMU trains, successively launched services of EMU trains to more than 240 cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, and started to build the 1-hour, 2-hour and 3-hour traffic circles centered on Kunming in 2018. The "mass transit-type" EMU trains have enabled the people in Yunnan to enjoy a lifestyle of "twin-cities". With the operation of EMU trains on the railways from Kunming to Chuxiong, Dali and Lijiang, from Kunming to Yuxi and Hekou, and from Kunming to Qujing and Xuanwei, the EMU trains now operated cover the intercity railway network under the administration of China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd.
