Published:2020-07-01

From 00:00 on July 1, the Q3 train operation diagram will be implemented across the national railways. With opening-to-traffic of many new railways, the passenger and freight transport capacity will be further improved, and the train operation will be adjusted in time according to the passenger and freight transport demands.

Opening-to-traffic of many new railways will further improve the railway network structure. Many new railways will be put into operation around July 1, which will further improve the railway network structure and greatly enhance the regional transportation capacity. After the opening of Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou HSR (Hefei-Huzhou section), 60.5 pairs of EMU trains will be arranged daily on the railway, providing more convenient transport for passengers in central and eastern China. After the opening of Nantong-Shanghai Railway, 46 pairs of EMU trains and 6 pairs of freight trains will be arranged every day on the railway, which will greatly enhance the railway transportation capacity across the Yangtze River and tighten the connection between Shanghai and northern Jiangsu. After the opening of Kazuo-Chifeng HSR, 8 pairs of EMU trains will be arranged daily on the railway, and the Chifeng area of Inner Mongolia will be connected to the national HSR network via Beijing-Shenyang HSR. After the opening of Anshun-Liupanshui HSR, 10 pairs of EMU trains will be arranged daily on the railway, and the Liupanshui area in Guizhou will be connected to the national HSR network via Shanghai-Kunming HSR. After the opening of Golmud-Korla Railway (Qinghai section), 1 pair of passenger trains and 2 pairs of freight trains will be arranged daily on the railway, which will support the resource development and poverty alleviation in northwest China.

With the summer travel rush begins, the train operation will be adjusted timely. While implementing the new operation diagram, the railway sector will also launch the 62-day summer travel rush from July 1 to August 31. On the basis of implementing the new Q3 train operation diagram, it will implement "one diagram per day" according to the passenger traffic changes to better meet the travel needs of students, family visitors and tourists during the summer travel rush. It plans to additionally allocate 48 through temporary passenger trains and 3 scheduled passenger trains with extended operation section every day. At the same time, it will allocate tourist-dedicated trains between major tourist cities when appropriate, to create high-quality tourist routes, providing people with more choices for summer vacation.

Conventional speed trains will be adjusted and optimized to effectively prevent the safety risks in flood season. The railway sector has always put the operation safety of passenger trains in the first place and strictly followed the fundamental principle of comprehensively preventing safety risks. According to the safety and environment improvement conditions and flood control safety measures for the conventional speed railways, in the new diagram, it will optimize and adjust the operation plan of some passenger trains passing through Taiyuan-Jiaozuo Railway, Anhui-Jiangxi Railway and Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway, change the operation route of 2 pairs of conventional speed trains, change 4 pairs of conventional speed trains from night operation to day operation, and change the operation section of 1 pair of conventional speed train.

Freight transport capacity will be further improved to better support the enterprises for work and production resumption. In the new diagram, the railway sector will allocate 20,096 freight trains per day, including 193 freight trains operating in a passenger train pattern, 70 CRE trains and 11 freight trains running along the Yangtze River, which may better serve the work and production resumption of enterprises and the international economic and trade cooperation.
