Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR, with a total length of 1,777 km and a designed maximum operating speed of 250 km/h, traverses Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces. It is the HSR with the world's longest one-time construction mileage. Reputed as the "Steel Silk Road" it is an important transportation corridor for the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

　　Over the past five years, Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR has survived from the test of high temperature, severe cold, sandstorm, rain and snow, and large passenger flow. The infrastructures on the whole line remain in good condition, and the train operations are safe, fast and stable. It has not only brought convenient travel to the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Gansu provinces, but also brought a new mobility and changed people's life. Due to the opening of Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR, the "one-city effect" has taken place between the provincial capitals of Gansu and Qinghai provinces. The 2-hour traveling time between Lanzhou and Xining has brought them into a 2-hour urban economic circle, and the "setting off in the morning and arriving in the evening" has been realized between Lanzhou and Urumqi. At the same time, the opening and operation of Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR has accelerated the flow of people and logistics in cities along the HSR, promoted the development of tourism along the line, and changed the inconvenient traveling conditions of people of all ethnic groups along the line. Traveling on HSR has become people's new fashion.

　　In the past five years, Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR has not only realized the rapid passenger transport connection between the western regions such as Xinjiang and the central and eastern regions, but also promoted the freight transport capacity of the existing Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway. It has further expanded the transportation corridors of coal, cotton, melons and fruits and other advantageous resources in Xinjiang, Gansu and Qinghai provinces and central Asia and has become a new engine to promote the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.

　　China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Lanzhou Group Co., Ltd. have steadily improved the transport capacity allocation and service level of Lanzhou-Xinjiang HSR. The daily operated EMUs have increased significantly, meeting the travel needs of passengers.
