Luchuan County in Yulin City has become the third county in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region having originated EMU trains after Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County and Xing'an County.

The trip from Luchuan to Nanning used to take nearly 5 hours by conventional speed train and more than 4 hours by bus with bumpy roads. Now it only takes 2 hours and 16 minutes by EMU train, which is convenient and comfortable.

Luchuan County is a major Hakkas county in Guangxi. In 1955, Luchuan Station on the Litang-Zhanjiang Railway was put into operation. In recent years, the station has dispatched more than 500,000 passengers annually, which is the largest county-level conventional speed railway station in Guangxi. With the help of railway's strong transport capacity, the county sees a rapid development. In 2016, the county became one of the first counties to shake off poverty in Guangxi.

In 2017, China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd. took the opportunity of Litang-Zhanjiang Railway electrification to upgrade the station buildings and related equipment in Luchuan Station. On November 1, 2019, the new station building of Luchuan Station was put into use, which can meet the stopping and turn-back of EMU trains. After the adjustment of the train operation diagram in national railways at the end of 2019, Luchuan Station will have 4 pairs of EMU trains directly connecting to Liuzhou, Guilin and other places, and thus attracting more enterprises to invest in Luchuan.
