On September 20, the first phase of the new Shantou Railway Station, the largest comprehensive high speed rail hub in eastern Guangdong, was officially opened. Built by CR Construction, the station is equipped with the most comprehensive transport connection functions in the region.

　　The new Shantou Railway Station, an important node on the coastal high speed railway under China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" rail network, covers 100,000 square meters. It integrates high speed rail, normal-speed rail, intercity trains and urban public transport. Once fully completed, it will ensure convenient and comfortable travel for people in eastern Guangdong.
