The Chongqing East Ring Railway connects a few trunk lines including the Chongqing-Guiyang Railway, Xiangyang-Chongqing Railway, Chongqing-Huaihua Railway, Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway, Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway and Zhengzhou-Chongqing High Speed Railway, etc. Stations along the line are seamlessly connected with urban rail transit, urban public transport, civil aviation terminals and other public transport means, connecting major transport hubs such as the Chongqingdong Railway Station, Chongqingbei Railway Station, Chongqingxi Railway Station and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport while helping build an integrated transport system consisting of railway, air, road and rail transit. At the same time, this railway works together with the planned high speed railway lines such as the Chongqing-Xi’an High Speed Railway to build an express channel for passenger flow transfer at the node of the trunk railway.
