Entire Zhengzhou-Taiyuan High Speed Railway Opens to Traffic on December 12

  On December 12, the entire Zhengzhou-Taiyuan HSR opened to traffic as its Jiaozuo-Taiyuan section was put into operation on that day. The HSR may cut the shortest travel time between Zhengzhou and Taiyuan from 3 hours and 38 minutes to 2 hours and 24 minutes.

  As the first HSR running through Taihang Mountains, the Zhengzhou-Taiyuan HSR starts from Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, passes through Jiaozuo in Henan Province, Jincheng, Changzhi and Jinzhong in Shanxi Province, and ends in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province. The HSR has a total length of 432 km, of which the Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo section was put into operation on June 26, 2015. The Jiaozuo-Taiyuan section opening to traffic this time is 372 km long, with 12 stations including Jiaozuo Station, Jiaozuo West Station, Jincheng East Station, Gaoping East Station, Changzhi South Station, Changzhi East Station, Xiangyuan East Station, Wuxiang Station, Yushe West Station, Taigu East Station, Jinzhong Station and Taiyuan South Station.
