The deadline for issuing electronic invoices is within 180 days after the journey is completed or after payment of ticket cancellation (rebooking) fees. During this period, passengers can apply for an electronic invoice through their railway 12306 account. To accommodate varying travel habits and acceptance levels, the railway passenger service has introduced a transitional period for the full digitalization of electronic invoices. This transition period will last from November 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. During this period, both paper reimbursement vouchers and electronic invoices can be issued. However, passengers can choose only one type, and once issued, the form of the invoice cannot be changed.
