Published:2023-07-13

On the 12th, with the departure of Train DJ882 from Luoyangzhen Railway Station in Kunming, Yunnan, at 4:32 a.m., and Train DJ881 from Shuangliuxi Railway Station in Chengdu, Sichuan, at 4:40 a.m., the pilot project of batch transportation of whole-train high speed express trains was officially launched. Subsequently, whole-train high speed express trains will operate in pairs on a daily basis.

The spokesperson from CR stated that the high speed express trains operating in this pilot project are transformed from CRH2A-type trains, with a maximum operating speed of 250 kilometers per hour and a maximum load capacity of over 55 tons. Prior to the operation of the pilot trains, the railway department carried out adaptive modifications to the loading and unloading stations at the originating and terminating stations. They conducted comprehensive research and demonstrations on train transportation organization, operational safety, cargo loading methods, and loading and unloading operations at both ends, and conducted multiple trials. The preparatory work can meet the requirements for operating whole-train high speed express trains. The pilot trains are operated by CR’s subsidiary, China Railway Express Co., Ltd., and mainly serve high-value-added goods with high time requirements, such as fresh food, urgent business items, biomedical products, and electronic products.
