Xinjiang Railway Border Stations Support Agricultural Production by Handling Imported Fertilizers

In recent days, a series of returning CRE trains loaded with imported fertilizers have entered China through the Alataw Pass and Horgos Port, and after railway marshaling and transshipment, they have been swiftly transported to various parts of the country, effectively ensuring agricultural production. According to statistics, Xinjiang Railway border stations have handled 404,000 tons of imported fertilizers since the beginning of this year, of which 379,000 tons were handled at the Alataw Pass and 25,000 tons at the Horgos Port.

Currently, many regions in China are in the critical period of spring sowing and preparation, which also requires ample supplies of fertilizers and other agricultural materials. The demand for spring agricultural materials is high, with a significant increase in the transportation volume of such materials. To ensure agricultural production, China imports a large amount of fertilizers from abroad every year to meet the demand for spring fertilization. Therefore, timely customs clearance and transportation of imported fertilizers play an important role in ensuring spring sowing and promoting increased crop yields.
