Published:2024-02-06

On January 22, agricultural products from ASEAN countries, such as rice from Cambodia and coconut milk from Thailand, were transported by the New Year Goods Train of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The train departed from Qinzhougangdong Railway Station in Guangxi and arrived at Tuanjiecun Railway Station in Chongqing and Chengxiang Railway Station in Chengdu. Subsequently, these goods were distributed to local households. This marks the first New Year Goods Train of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor launched by Guangxi’s railway authority this year.

In recent years, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, initially a collaboration between Yunnan and Guangxi, has expanded into a new framework jointly developed by 18 provinces and municipalities in China. It has formed three main trunk lines connecting the east, central, and western regions, establishing a transportation network covering 473 ports in 120 countries and regions worldwide. The variety of transported goods has increased from over 50 types in 2017 to more than 980 today. Products like Hunan’s sugar oranges and yellow peaches, Sichuan’s Luzhou Baijiu, Gansu’s potatoes, as well as durians and cassava flour from ASEAN countries, have utilized the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor to enter and exit China. This corridor provides stable transportation support for the bilateral trade between China and ASEAN countries.

To accelerate the high speed turnover of the New Year Goods Train, CR-Nanning has strengthened communication and coordination with companies such as Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Container and Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd., Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Supply Chain Co., Ltd., and China Railway United International Container Guangxi Co., Ltd. They have established and improved the “Sea-Rail Integration” management mechanism and enhanced reverse transportation capacity. Simultaneously, they have implemented integrated management in the Qinzhou area, facilitating fast entry and exit at Qinzhougangdong Railway Station and maintaining a station loading and unloading capacity of more than 1,000 times regularly.
