The First Departure of China-Vietnam Railway (Chengdu to Vietnam) International Cold Chain Freight Train

Published:2024-01-29

Recently, the China-Vietnam Railway international cold chain freight train, loaded with a batch of mushrooms, departed from Chengdu railway hub Chengxiang Railway Station. Passing through Nanning and Pingxiang in Guangxi, the train is scheduled to arrive in Vietnam in seven days, where the cargo will be distributed to Yên Viên and Ho Chi Minh City. The inaugural run of this train marks the official commencement of operations for the China-Vietnam Railway (Chengdu to Vietnam) international cold chain freight train. This further expands and optimizes the logistics channel between Chengdu and Southeast Asia, creating a new shortcut for the export of inland agricultural products from China to Southeast Asia.

According to reports, the mushrooms exported to Vietnam are from Chengdu Finc Bio+Tech Co., Ltd. Since the opening of the CRE train (Chengdu), the company has significantly increased its market share in the European mushroom market by shipping mushrooms to places such as Tilburg, Netherlands, via cold chain trains.

“We have strengthened communication and coordination with relevant authorities and enterprises, ensured seamless connection throughout the entire process of train operation, and prioritized empty car selection, technical operations, and locomotive power to ensure the smooth operation of this train,” said the person in charge of the Chengxiang Railway Station.

In recent years, International Freight Trains from Chengdu have contributed to the integration of urban and rural development and facilitated the transportation of Sichuan goods to other regions. This has reduced the transportation time for agricultural products to Southeast Asian and European markets, enhancing the competitiveness of inland agricultural products from China in the international market. CR-Chengdu will continue to develop freight transportation products, promote integration with the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI), address international logistics challenges in the central and western regions, and contribute to the creation of a new pattern of open development in the central and western regions.
