Rail-Sea Intermodal Transport Helps Boost Economic Recovery in Yangtze River Delta

At 14:30 on August 2, No. 75136 rail-sea express train (Lianyungang-Erenhot-Mongolia) departed from Lianyungang Port, as a new service launched by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. to help upgrade the CRE train services, realize the seamless connection between railway and shipping, and serve the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

As one of the key areas of "Made in China" and export-oriented economy, the Yangtze River Delta, with the strong support of CHINA RAILWAY, relying on its advantages in highly-developed railway network and rich port resources, has done a good job of "ensuring stability in employment, financial operations, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment and expectations" and "ensuring security in job, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments". It has vigorously promoted rail-sea intermodal transport for the key industrial chains. By eliminating obstacles, bridging gaps and strengthening support for key factors, it has unblocked the industrial circulation, and helped both the upstream and downstream enterprises to resume work and achieve production targets. The rail-sea express train service can eliminate the waiting time of containers for transit transport in Lianyungang Port, which is one of the many measures taken by the railway sector to facilitate the railway-sea intermodal transport corridor in the Yangtze River Delta.
