At 10:30 on May 9, with a horn blowing, the international postal train carrying 41 containers set off from Shilong Station, Guangzhou Freight Center of China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd. It will cross the Chinese border at Horgos Port in Xinjiang, run through Kazakhstan, Russia, etc. and is expected to arrive at Vilnius Station in Lithuania in 16 days. This is the first international postal train originated from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is also a new route and new product of CRE train in Guangdong, which opened up a new green channel for the international mails overstocked during the epidemic.
To promote the import and export of foreign trade enterprises in Guangdong, China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. have targeted the requirements of the enterprises and reasonably designed the transportation routes. They have set up a junction border station for CRE trains at Horgos Station for the first time, and customized a green channel for postal trains, so as to provide sufficient transport capacity for a smooth international supply chain during the epidemic.
Shilong Station's freight director Pu Sui said that the cargoes loaded on this postal CRE train are the export parcels of Dongguan Branch of CHINA POST, which includes tens of thousands of goods such as clothing, toys and electronic products. This postal CRE train runs 10,779 kilometers and is currently the postal train with the longest running distance in China.
After the train arrives at Vilnius Station in Lithuania, the containers will be distributed to 26 European countries such as Spain, Britain, Germany and Italy. Zhang Zhihong, head of the freight department of China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd., said that the railway freight department has transported the industrial chain supplies and daily necessities to the countries along the route timely by giving them priority in consignment, loading and coupling for transportation.
In order to ensure the smooth operation of this postal train, Guangzhou Freight Center, Dongguan customs, CHINA POST Dongguan Branch, China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. and other authorities and enterprises have applied the joint mechanism for CRE train transport. They have strengthened the coordination, cooperated closely in the whole process, integrated the utilization of locomotives and track resources at Shilong Station, and implemented centralized loading of this postal train. They also strengthened on-site monitoring and control, provided full-process service, and made full efforts to build this high-quality postal train to meet the requirements of customers.
